Every Golden Dreams duvet begins on a European farm and ends on your bed. This guide explains each step of that path, and how to find the right match for your sleep.
01 — Origin & Ethics
From farm to factory. No shortcuts.
Golden Dreams duvets are produced under exclusive bespoke manufacture in Denmark, an artisanal partnership with our Danish partner, founded in 1947, in Jutland. The entire supply chain is European and audited.
🥩
Food industry by-product
All down and feathers from our partner are by-products of the food industry, purchased directly from slaughterhouses. No animal is raised or processed exclusively for filling material.
🚫
Zero live-plucking
The extraction of feathers from live animals (*live-plucking*) is forbidden in the EU and has zero tolerance in our supply chain. The policy is audited by independent third parties annually.
🔍
Full traceability
Tracking system documents every shipment from supplier to final product. Member of EDFA (European Down & Feather Association) with strict code of conduct.
🌍
100% European chain
All raw material comes from Europe, where animal welfare legislation is the most demanding in the world. No imports from regions without ethical regulation.
♻️
Biodegradable by nature
Down is organic material. It decomposes 100% at the end of its life cycle. Unlike synthetic filling (plastic/polyester), it leaves no permanent residue.
⏳
Decades of durability
A high-quality down duvet lasts 20–30 years with proper maintenance. A synthetic one needs to be replaced every 3–5 years. Sustainable luxury over the long term.
Full supply chain traceability. Strict code of conduct against animal cruelty.

On black feathers
Occasionally, black feathers may appear in the filling — this is a natural characteristic of certain birds and does not represent any quality defect. It is a sign of a genuine product, not artificially processed for uniform appearance.
02 — Fill Power
The number that defines the experience
Fill Power (or CUIN — Cubic Inches per ounce) is the most important quality measure in down. The higher the number, the lighter and warmer the duvet.
What it is
Fill Power = Loft = Warmth per Gram
Fill Power measures how many cubic centimeters 30g of down occupies when freely expanded. High-quality down creates more air chambers per gram, and it is the air chambers that insulate heat.
Result: with higher fill power, you need less weight to get more warmth. The duvet becomes lighter, looser, more like a cloud.

Eiderdown (premium reference)900+ CUIN
GDB curation has defined that the luxury category we work with sits between 600 and 900 CUIN, a scientifically ideal warmth range for quality sleep.
Duck vs Goose
Two nobles. One family.
Both produce high-quality down. The difference is in down size: goose is larger, which naturally generates more loft per gram. That is why goose generally reaches higher fill powers.
But processing quality matters as much as the species. Our partner washes, selects and blends duck and goose down with artisanal precision, a practice refined over decades.
European Duck
Prefers water. Smaller, denser down. Excellent cost-benefit. Ideal for weight and structure.
European Goose
Prefers land. Larger, lighter down. High fill power. Ethereal feel, maximum warmth per gram.
Nota GDB
Duck is not inferior to goose, it is different. Nordic uses 70% duck because the right proportion creates the ideal touch and weight for the product. Our partner's art lies in knowing exactly how much of each to use.
Down or feather?
Why we say down.
Down comes from the chest and belly of these birds, the same that warms them in the cold and protects their eggs. That is why it has the highest warmth per gram. The feather, broader and stiffer, provides support and structure.
03 — Winter Collection 2026
Four duvets. One for each sleep.
Each duvet has two independent dimensions: warmth (🔥) and weight (●). Some people prefer the feel of a heavier duvet regardless of temperature. Signature reveals the paradox: lighter than the Nordic Medium, but warmer. That is fill power.

04 — Find yours
Each person has a different sleep.
The ideal duvet depends on who you are, not only on where you live. These are the factors that most influence the choice:
🌡️
Body temperature
People who "run hot" sleep better with less fill. Those who feel cold easily prefer denser duvets or higher fill power.
🏙️
Cidade e clima
São Paulo, Rio, Recife and Salvador call for light duvets. Porto Alegre, Curitiba, Gramado and the mountain regions call for more warmth, especially from May to August.
❄️
Ar condicionado
Anyone sleeping with strong air conditioning may need a heavier duvet even in summer. The artificial environment changes the equation entirely.
🏠
Your bedroom
Well-sealed rooms with double glazing retain more heat. Older rooms, houses and higher altitudes have greater temperature variation: the duvet needs to be more versatile.
🌙
Seasons of the year
The ideal is to own two duvets: a lighter one for summer and a heavier one for winter. The Scandinavian Sleep System anticipates exactly this: one duvet per person.
🪶
Experience with down
First time with real down? The Nordic Medium is the entry point. For those who already know and want the most, Signature offers another dimension of experience.
The Scandinavian Sleep System
In Nordic countries, each person in the bed has their own duvet — individually sized, calibrated to their thermal profile. No more blanket disputes. Each sleeps at their ideal temperature. It is the GDB philosophy from the start.
05 — Next Collection · Summer 2027
The Muscovy. The Nordic surprise.
Our manufacturer works with four types of down: Eiderdown, European Goose, Muscovy Duck and European Duck. The next GDB collection brings the Muscovy, a bird that surprises.
In development · Summer 2027
Muscovy Duck · Cairina moschata
The Muscovy is associated with improved lineages such as the French White Duck. Its down is dense, structured and with fill power that often competes with European goose, at a lower cost. The next GDB collection will feature a Muscovy blend for the warm season: a summer duvet with more nobility than it appears.

06 — Scandinavian Sleep System
Dois duvets significa respeito e amor.
Fighting over a single duvet at different temperatures is unkind. Sleep culture advanced centuries ago in two unlikely places: the Nordic countries and Japan. And they met.
A
B
Duvet 6×8 baffles
Pillow 50×70
Square 60×63
Two people, two bodies, two thermal rhythms. To cover both with a single duvet and expect the same temperature to serve both is miscalibrated optimism. The individual duvet is not coldness, it is respect.
🇩🇰🇸🇪🇳🇴🇫🇮🇮🇸
Norte da Europa
A cultura do frio
Countries where winter defines the rhythm of life developed deep sleep rituals. The concept of hygge, coziness, comfort, was born precisely from the need to create human warmth in a cold environment. The individual duvet is part of that system: each person in their own micro-climate, in the same bed.
🇯🇵
Japan
The minimalism that warms
Remarkably, Japan converges with Scandinavia in the ritual of sleep. The individual futon, silence as value, the discipline of space — all point to the same conclusion: sleep is sacred, individual, and deserves full attention.
Hygge
Hygge/ˈhjuːɡə/ · Danish
The word has no perfect translation in English, much less in Portuguese. Hyggelig is the adjective; hygge is the state.
It is not just "coziness". It is a state of being well with yourself and with the people around you — in a safe, warm, unhurried place. It is the feeling of a lit candle, a heavy blanket, a boa companhia.
The Danish down duvet was made to create that state. It is no coincidence.
The style that inspires us
Japandi — onde o hygge encontra o wabi-sabi.
The fusion of Japanese functional minimalism with Scandinavian cozy rusticity. Serene, natural and functional spaces that prioritize quality over quantity. The opposite of excess.
Minimalismo Funcional
Few objects, chosen with care. Each piece has function and beauty.
Wabi-Sabi
Beauty in imperfection. The artisanal, the natural, what has a story.
Natureza & Textura
Light wood, linen, cotton, stone. Textures that invite touch.
Paleta Neutra
Earth tones, beige, white, gray. Visual rest that prepares sleep.
GDB is born at that intersection. The Danish down duvet in a japandi room, with a 400-thread sateen sheet and two individual pillows: this is the scene we imagine when designing each product.
The individual duvet pairs with any bed
The individual GDB duvet (140×220 cm) fits perfectly on single, double, queen, and king beds. On larger beds, each person simply has a little more margin. For queen and king, we offer fitted sheets in the corresponding sizes.
07 — How to Care
Your duvet thanks you for the care.
High-quality down lasts decades with simple care. A few basic rules make all the difference.
Duvets & Pillows · H.C. Andersen Line
🌡️
Wash at 60°C
Machine of at least 7kg. Never bleach, never dry-clean. The 60°C temperature sanitizes and preserves the down.
O detergente certo
Use mild liquid laundry detergent, free of enzymes, bleach and optical brighteners. Check the label for:
lava roupas delicadasfor wool and silkno enzymesno bleachno optical brightener
Tumble dry at low temperature with 2–3 tennis balls. Storing with any moisture causes irreversible mold. Never in direct sunlight or exposed to bad weather and humidity.
🚫
No fabric softener
Never use fabric softener on the duvet or pillow. It coats the down and destroys fill power. Clean down is naturally soft.
🚫
No ironing · No vacuuming · No beating
Down duvets and pillows should not be ironed, vacuumed or shaken forcefully. Shaking gently is enough; beating destroys the down structure.
💨
Air out 3–4 times per year
Placing the duvet outdoors (in the shade) 3–4 times a year removes accumulated moisture and keeps the down healthy. Never store without airing first.
🫧
Shake daily
Shaking the duvet when getting up redistributes the down and maintains the loft. The simplest and most effective gesture for preserving quality over the years.
📅
Wash only when needed
1–2 times a year at 60°C with mild liquid detergent without enzymes (see recommendations in the wash card above). Dry 100% before storing; damp down creates irreversible mold. With a cover, the duvet stays protected between washes.
Why down does not slip
The duvet is divided into baffles (sewn compartments) that keep the down evenly distributed. In addition, Aurora covers have internal ties that secure the duvet in place. All designed so your comfort does not shift during the night — the result of decades of continuous refinement.

The Signature at R$7,490 divided over 12 years (average of the 10–15 range) = R$624/year. Less than R$2 per night, for more than a decade.
♻
Refill extends useful life
When the duvet loses loft over the years, it can be refilled with new down instead of discarded — a European practice that further extends the life of the piece.
* Durability estimates are based on manufacturer data and conditional on proper use and care as per label instructions. Products are not sold with manufacturer warranty in Brazil. Actual durability depends on frequency of use and conservation conditions.
✦ GDB Tips
Always use a cover
The cover replaces the intermediate sheet and protects the duvet for years. Owning covers in different colors is a small indulgence: it changes the look of the bed with a single gesture. In 400-thread sateen, skin contact creates a freshness the bare duvet does not offer.
Lay it on top first
Place the duvet on the bed and lie on top of it without covering yourself. Did you feel like you were on a cloud? Quality down lets the air circulate and does not suffocate. You will hear a crisp sound: it is the high-quality cotton at work.

🌡️
Lavar a 30°C
Sateen cotton (percale) 400 threads — delicate cycle at 30°C. Preserves the satin finish, color and softness of the fabric for much longer.
🪢
Lavar virado ao avesso
Especially on colored pieces (Sage Green, Rosé). Reduces friction on the outer face and preserves sateen sheen for many more washes.
🧴
Little or no fabric softener
High-quality sateen does not need softener to be soft. Excess creates residue that reduces fabric absorption and leaves a sticky feel.
♨️
Passar a ferro morno
If needed, iron at low temperature on the reverse side. Sateen sheen can be affected by excessive heat. Alternative: dry flat and fold while still slightly damp.
