Why Golden Dreams exists.

An open letter from Eduardo, founder.

Chapter 01 · Denmark

It began in Denmark.

I have spoken Danish for twenty-six years. I lived there in 2000–2001, and have returned every three years since. Not out of duty. Out of curiosity and affection. A language that taught me more about climate and silence than about grammar.

I have known these duvets for decades. Three of them sleep with me at home, bought over the past twenty years. Well cared-for Scandinavian down is not a commodity. It is a decision of origin, of process, of time.

Denmark has some of the highest indices of happiness and honesty in the world. That is no coincidence. It is the source of much to learn from.

Chapter 02 · The special blanket

That blanket, the most special of all.

My daughter grew up with these duvets. She always had one over her when she slept. For her, that is simply how it has always been.

In 2024, on an ordinary night, she asked for ten more minutes in bed. But with "that blanket, the most special of all". It was there, with the door half open and the room still dark, that it became the idea for a company.

A well cared-for duvet lasts twenty, thirty years. It will cross her childhood, perhaps her adolescence, perhaps her first home. What Golden Dreams delivers is not a monthly purchase. It is a long-term decision.

Chapter 03 · The journey

I went back to the factory in person.

In August 2025 I took a plane and went back to Denmark. Not as a tourist. To close the partnership in person.

I saw the factory from inside. The selection room, the sewing, the product archives. I spoke in Danish with people who have been producing down for four generations. I signed a long-term commercial agreement with a Danish partner, founded in 1947, in Jutland.

Chapter 04 · Ibitinga / Aurora

But I did not want to only import.

Importing is “easy”, they say. It is not. Registering the company, clearing the import license, paying the supplier, paying the taxes, sorting the logistics, and only holding the product many days later, with a thousand uncertainties and a landed cost of over 100% in effective duties. Even so, just buying there, selling here and posing as a premium brand does not satisfy me. I wanted Golden Dreams to have a Brazilian hand as well. Not as marketing. As product.

I went to Ibitinga, the capital of embroidery, in the interior of São Paulo. I met partners, I saw weaving, I saw cutting, I saw sewing. I looked for someone who understood 400 thread-count sateen, without cutting corners where corners cannot be cut. I found them.

The Aurora line is born of that decision. Duvet cover, pillowcases, sheets, the Premium Brasil pillow. 400 thread-count sateen, 100% cotton, sewn to order. More than 170 workers in a clean and honest Brazilian industry. Four colours in the launch palette: White, Rosé, Black, Sage Green.

Aurora is not an accessory. It is the other half of the house.

✦ Closing

Golden Dreams Brasil is my company, registered in Pinheiros, São Paulo. No investor yet, no holding, no rush.

With method, with patience, and with the judgement of someone who understands that a good night's sleep is a serious matter.
